I believe joy can sit quietly next to the heaviness of grief. That it can be found in our mistakes, alongside our loneliness, present even in our pain. Joy isn’t only in the laughter and the sweet, delighted moments. It’s an enduring state of the heart that can coexist with difficulty, uncertainty, and sorrow.
Joy is a journey of becoming.

Mom, wife, writer — and a child of God.
I’m a mom, a wife, a sister, a daughter, a friend, and a child of God. I’m obsessed with giraffes and windmills and watermelon, with poppies and turtles and Hallmark movies, with playing the piano, putting my toes in the sand, and the way fall leaves let go.
I love my family in nature, and I love to travel. But oh, how I love to write. I love taking what I feel in my heart and putting it into words, uncovering the quiet wonders and sacred miracles hidden in everyday life.

The love and presence of Jesus, in the everyday.
Much of what I write reflects the love and presence of Jesus Christ in my life and in the world around me. We find joy in choosing love despite the risk of heartbreak. We find gratitude in the absence of blessings, and faith in humanity and in ourselves when it would be easier not to.
Home is where I feel closest to heaven.
When I’m not writing, I’m living my greatest calling: mother to a beautifully blended family of five children, wife to an amazing husband, and keeper of three dogs. I’m often lost in my garden, where I feel closest to heaven and to the God who speaks to me.
